Salmon Don’t Live in Hot Water, Do They? The Rapid Decline of the Lower Deschutes River

by flymag.net

Eye-opening and shocking movie from Deschutes River Alliance. This amazing river has been a homeland for hundreds of birds, fishes and insects for centuries. This river used to be Oregon’s cradle of trouts, steelheads and salmons. But it’s not any more! Because of a warm water PGE (Portland General Electrics) releases into the waters of Deschutes River, below the dam much of the wild species seem to be disappearing from the  Deschutes River and it’s surrounding. 100 miles below the dam is a black zone of death! So the collaboration of scientists, biologists and wildlife activists started the fight for the clean and cold waters of this river. Salmon don’t live in hot water, do they?
